My parents flew in for the weekend. This is going to be great.
If my brief, broken sentence structure isn’t enough of an indication of how excited I am, here’s a preview of what’s going down.
And most importantly…

Later this year, for my birthday, Dayle and I are going camping. I said I wanted a new lens for my camera and I wanted to go somewhere where I could really use it. Now we’re going camping somewhere (she hasn’t told me yet), and I get to prepare for things like no cell phone service for 4 days, and keeping food secure so wild animals don’t get to it (or us). If you read snark in that previous sentence, you are mistaken. I’m really excited.
But this also means we have a lot of preparations to make before we become one with nature. First and foremost, we need gear.
After a trip to REI and some best-price shopping on Amazon, I’m happy to report we are on our way.
This weekend was Dayle’s birthday. There were presents, good food, and a trip to the Winchester Mystery House.
Pictures inside the house weren’t permitted, but even if they were I wouldn’t be able to do all the curiosities of that estate justice. But if you want to see what the outside looks like, head over to Flickr. Here’s a sample (all of the photos link to the album).
Dayle and I are in Huntsville, Alabama planning our wedding. While sharing the specifics of what we’ve accomplished today is not appropriate, I can say that we’ve visited multiple venue locations, met with a florist, and a baker. We’re also making plans to meet with at least one photographer and caterer before we return to San Francisco on Tuesday.
Posting quality (and frequency) will be impacted over the next week or so while I get packed and prepared for my move to San Francisco. Just an FYI.
But what are you doing reading this blog anyway? Enjoy your time off!
Not as bad as you might think…
I’m thankful to have a job that affords me the opportunity to work from home when necessary.
The fact that I get to sit next to this face was also quite pleasant.
