Thanks to our Presidents, I had a free day yesterday to try to replace a faucet, actually replace a medicine cabinet and finally finish up painting the two remaining bedrooms in my condo. The room below will be the computer-ish room. I’m envisioning an office of some sort, even though I don’t have a proper desktop computer any more. Regardless, I need a caption for this photo (see below).
I have been in a “home improvement” slump for a few weeks. I suppose if you ignore the shelves I bought in the beginning of August and the whole hot water heater debacle, I haven’t really devoted more than an hour of any day to actually making my home my home since June. Motivation quickly evaporated after I got the essentials completed. I have a room to game and watch movies, my kitchen was complete and my bedroom is 95% complete – what more do I need? I suppose if you exclude hallways, the dining room, a few closets, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, the back patio and the main storage closet…I don’t have anything left to do.
Holy wow, this week is going to be hectic. The goal is to have this place ready for me to actually live in it by the beginning of June. In theory I guess I’d only need functioning appliances, a bed, and a working bathroom and I could work around the rest until something final is in place. Thankfully June 1 isn’t a hard deadline, but I’m still acting as if that date is D-Day. But before I even think about living here I still have lots to do.
My parents have been on a kick to repaint the walls in the family room for what feels like months. We have had a decent shade of blue along most of the walls and it covers the main wall along the family room and the kitchen. Of course the undertaking of such a monumental task of painting the walls in the biggest room in the house is not one to be taken lightly. Pictures will show off better than I can describe what went down this weekend, so read on but be sure to dress appropriately, it might get messy.
