I will be attending the American Diabetes Association’s 73rd Scientific Sessions in Chicago…as staff.
This means I will be behind the scenes helping out and making sure the conference goes smoothly. This also means I will be in Chicago for 6 days.
Naturally, I will share my experiences on Twitter (@iam_spartacus), Instagram (also @iam_spartacus) and maybe Vine during the week. Follow along.
The official hashtag for the event is #2013ada, if you want to see what everyone else is talking about.
As you know, I had this blog before I started working for Big Red. I also rarely post about work, in part because it’s not relevant to what I try to do with this slice of Internet. So while it shouldn’t be necessary, I would like to remind you that the view and opinions expressed here are my own. I will take the time to comment on what I see during the conference but I’m doing so because I think it’s interesting not because work asked me to.
I won’t have a lot of free time, but are there any sights I should see while I’m there?
We liked Shedd Aquarium (www.sheddaquarium.org) and the Navy Pier (www.navypier.com) – a lot of nice views and things to see in this area!

Also Navy Pier… Wrigley Field… top of the Sears Tower at sunset… and if you can handle the bolus required, go to Giordano’s for the deep dish. Enjoy
