10 years ago today, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

It’s a celebration!
The rest, as they say, is history. Even if that history is currently being written.
In recognition of my diabetes turning 10, I’m hoping to reach my fundraising goal for my local Step Out event. Hopefully, one day, we can start celebrating the anniversary of the death of my diabetes.
I’ll have something more poignant to say about this anniversary next week, for now, please consider donating.
And thanks for being part of my support structure. This disease sucks, but it is certainly easier knowing I’m not going at this alone.
10 years! why was I thinking you were such a newbie. You’re not. Welcome to the double digits club, friend. You’re in good company. You’re also now officially invited to my diabetes’ quinceanera next year. 😉

On a prescription pad? If my doctor gave me a prescription for diabetes, I would have never filled it.
But seriously, the advancements in the last 10 years have been astounding compared to the previous twenty. Let’s hope this pace continues, and when you reach my level of D-seniority (triple-decade), this whole diabetes thing will be a piece of cake.
