Sleeping In

Sleeping in is an incredible feeling. Some weekends I’ll wake up around an “appropriate” time and get all kinds of tasks done. Other times I turn off as many electronic devices as I can and hide under my pillows for as long as possible. After this past weekend, it would appear that sleeping in will officially become an endangered resource, thanks to the kittens. We’ve given them full access to the condo, and this includes our bed. Most of the time they just play under the frame but every now and then I’ll feel little paws on my feet. Sometimes this meant ‘I want to play’, other times it meant ‘I’m hungry’, and there were even a few ‘I want to cuddle’ moments over the weekend. From this I can reach two (2) conclusions:

  1. I don’t speak cat.
  2. Our kittens are awesome.

Here are some other notes from the three day weekend.

  • Yesterday was my Dad’s birthday. Happy Birthday Dad!
  • I’ve updated the layout of the podcast blog. I think it’s nifty. I’ve also updated the art associated with said podcast. Also nifty. Check it out. There’s also a little bit about the Just Talking App – if you’re interested.
  • While I never met the family – although I was part of a massive Chik-fil-a run during Friends For Life – I was saddened to hear that Ryan Schuhmacher passed away after his battle with cancer. It’s tough to put in to words what this means, but Sara did an excellent job. You should read her post. This is one of those times that being part of the larger diabetes community can really make a difference.
  • I watched Sex and the City 2 last night with Dayle. I know this movie is not an accurate representation of what the show was, especially during its prime, but if it was…oh dear.
