One of the goals of November is to spread awareness. Awareness of what diabetes is, and (maybe more importantly) what diabetes is not. Crap like this ruins every single blue pin, wristband, shirt, blog background, Twitter avatar, Facebook profile picture and blue strand of newly-colored hair, if you’re feeling saucy.
I’m not sure if people will take the title of this booklet seriously, but I don’t want to take any chances. This is nonsense. Unless pie can actually reverse my diabetes…
That pie must have a lot of cinnamon…

I think your point is well taken, yet until the patient community takes a stand against these publishers, food companies or other unscrupulous types, we can expect this kind of preying on the naive, recently diagnosed patients. Two years ago, the ADA issued a consensus statement (admittedly, a consensus of just 12 individuals whose opinions are no more valuable or important than any other doctor) that indicated that there is no such thing as a “cure” for any type of diabetes and therefore the disease cannot be “reversed”, a permanent remission would be the only appropriate description, but that’s not a disease reversal. Ideally, I’d like to see the ADA should take a stronger stance against the companies or individuals making such egregious statements, because its factually incorrect, but instead, the patient community is left picking up the pieces..
