Dear Chris,

Your diabetes care includes Humalog and Lantus insulin pens. This has been a satisfactory method of insulin delivery for a good number of years now (approaching 9 years). However, insulin delivery only works when you have all of the tools and components required to deliver the previously mentioned medication. Please do not forget your insulin pen needles at home. Especially if you took public transportation to work today – that limits your options tremendously.

Luckily you work at a place with people that are willing to take time out of their busy schedules to help find a solution to this dilemma (hence the picture).

After all, it would be an incredibly cruel piece of irony if you can’t find insulin pen needles at the home office of the American Diabetes Association.
