Ask Manny

I’ve written a great deal about how much the Diabetes Online Community has benefited me since I started my blog. It’s one thing to know there are other people out there that feel the exact same way you do, but it’s an entirely different feeling when you can interact with them. Manny Hernandez has taken that simple maxim and expanded it to an network of people with or affected by Diabetes and formed TuDiabetes – a community of people touched by Diabetes, run by the Diabetes Hands Foundation. Social networking might be a big taboo to some, but people like Manny have been able to capitalize on the promise and potential of this technology and really make a difference in people’s lives. He joined me for an hour of discussion about all of his adventures in the online universe.

I’ve been told that I am one of the busiest people in podcasting. As busy as I am at times, I can’t hold a candle to Manny Hernandez, founder of TuDiabetes.org and EstuDiabetes.org. Members of the Diabetes Online Community know who Manny is and more importantly how hard he works each day to strengthen the community. Along with TuDiabetes he is hard at work with his Non-Profit Organization, the Diabetes Hands Foundation. Our discussion focuses primarily on the community and his various projects.
