The Art of an Icon
Last week I posted about “The Art of a Header” on the Just Talking blog. The header serves as a first impression. Depending on what you’re going for, it can make or break the ability of your blog to be memorable. But that’s not the title of this post, is it? Besides, the header for this blog isn’t really that interesting. And me looking all Vin Diesel with my Oakleys isn’t a really memorable experience is it?….on second thought, don’t answer that.
I would like to introduce you to iconarchive.com. It can provide hours of entertainment if you are in a particularly special state of boredom. More importantly, it can add that little something else to your blog’s sidebar if you need to add some umph to it.
To give you a real world example, all of the icons under the “I’m Just One Click Away” (to the right) were pulled from iconarchive.com. Obviously it’s up to the blogger’s preference, but if you are looking for something eye catching to serve as a clickable, give the site a shot.
Let me/us know what catches your eye. Be sure to set aside a decent amount of time before you start browsing. You might be at it for a while.
