Lantus Loves Me.

September 3, 2009

Yesterday I had my appointment with Dr. H (Not House). All went well. A1c shows progress, which is about all I can hope for with this incurable nonsense. By the power of Dell.com and some determined thrift shopping, an upgraded camera arrived at my doorstep two days ago. As a result, you all get another lovely video featuring my Oakleys, some sweet video effects from Sony Vegas, and my goofy face. Please be gentle.

YouTube loves me too.

Congrats on the A1c! And, to answer your question, yes, I do push my glasses (I wear them 24/7) up via the nose bridge, and I do it multiple times a day. If I’m annoyed, I use the bad finger. And I heartily agree about the wave. One of my biggest pet peeves while driving–no friendly wave after I’ve let someone in. Rude Chicago drivers… Another great blog, and I like the new ending.

Loved the vlog, you must do more! I loved the sweet count, it made me laugh and I needed that this AM. You gotta love all the crap that comes with the D, I will probably be starting a statin for my kidneys on the next visit. Hey, what can you do? If it keeps us all going for longer at a healthier rate, let’s take the darn pill :) Keep up the good work on the A1C, we all know how that battle goes!

Yes, glasses always slip down one’s nose. Most prescription glasses usually have adjustable nose pieces — but if you adjust them too tightly, they hurt your nose, mark your nose, hump the cartilage in the nose… and still slide down.

Way cool on A1C progress! I wear glasses all the time and notice I tend to adjust them on the sides rather than the middle…years ago some opthal told me it was “better for the glasses” to not push them up in the middle (whaaa?). I HATE glasses but what can ya do.

Oh, and I’m big on the waves ;-) Hang in there!

Never say inevitable! That’s what I thought about the kidney stuff too. My protein was crazy high, and my doctor was like, ‘Get your sh*t together, hon, or you’re screwed’ (I’m paraphrasing). I got my A1c down, and things have been OK, even reversed some of the damage – or at least that’s how it seems based on the drastic change in my protein levels.

I don’t know, man, believing that every bad diabetes thing possible was inevitable was a downfall for me, so I just try to encourage people not to think like that.

Very nice improvement on the A1c though.

You’re getting all kinds of fancy-pants with your vlogs. I feel like such an amateur now.

I’m digging the vlogs man. Keep it up! Congrats on the A1C too – progress is good.
