Just Like Riding a Bike
This week has been a bit hectic getting back into real-world mode. To put things in perspective, I think there is still some sand in my gym bag so I’m not completely back yet. That being said, today is another filler post. I’m hoping to ramp back up to more insightful sentences in the next couple of days.
First up, I took over editing the Post Game Report. It came down to the fact that I was not satisfied with the product (even though it is free) we were putting out to our listeners. Certain things like audio quality or availability of co-hosts due to IRL obligations is something we have to work with, fine. But if we say our podcast is coming out on Tuesdays, then dammit, it better be out on Tuesdays. By taking over post production, I am putting my name on the line in guaranteeing our podcast when we say it will be out. I’ve already taken an informal lead on the podcast in developing show notes and occasionally steering our conversation back on track when our tangents become a bit excessive, this is just the next step.
Here’s a link to get the latest episode. Let me know what you think.
Additionally, with the task of editing comes the pleasure of selecting intro and outro music for the podcast. I wasn’t a fan of the previous audio clips and I didn’t want to deal with Fair Use BS in using songs from artists covered under the RIAA’s Draconian Banhammer. Damn the man. So I hit up my friend Sujoy, you can find him here and here (and was featured in a SugarFree Spotlight here) to give me something to stimulate the eardrums of the dozens of listeners of PGR. I knew he had dabbled in making beats and actually had hand in a song on one of Rhianna’s CDs (although he wasn’t officially credited for it). Sujoy is going to provide me with 2 new tracks each week to use on PGR. Nothing special, just 30-45 seconds of bliss that I can fade appropriately. I want to keep things fresh.
If this episode is any indication, we are in for a serious treat. So check out this week’s episode and let me know what you think. There may or may not be a shoutout to the DOC in this and future episodes so stay tuned, you might be next.
Second, I have to start shaving again. I haven’t shaved my beard/stubble/wolf-man in almost 2 years. While I was on the road for my job it was part convenience of not having to try to fly with shaving cream and razors and part laziness. It was much easier to just bring my trimmer with me and do a once over for the uniform length. Also, I found that the people I had to interact with at all of these sites across the country would actually listen to me if I had facial hair. I suppose it made me appear older. Whatever, that part of my job sucked and I’m glad it’s behind me. I continued to do the stubble out of habit, I didn’t have a reason to shave it. Until Stephen’s Wedding.
I talked to Laura (future Mrs. Stephen) about the beard and she has requested that I shave it. It’s her (their) wedding, and I’m one of the groomsmen so supporting them is my number 1 priority.
Of course this means I need a new razor, and some sweet Edge Shaving Gel (Sensitive Skin please). And this is why I’m starting to shave again 2 weeks before the wedding, I’m a bit out of practice. Hopefully I wont gash my cheek or anything.
Just like riding a bike right?

Sweet intro. Looking forward to more of them.
